MAN AND WOMAN.
God made man, sent him down,
Man looked not happy, for he wore a frown,
God then made woman give him company
Thus began, this world’s longest journey.
Beautiful, petite, soft-spoken, she ought to be,
Ready to bear life’s burden with laughter and glee
Must play with adroitness, many a role,
Daughter, sister, wife, mother, total and whole
To be there always, whenever needed
Irrespective of whether her advice is heeded
To listen and to obey is her duty
This sums up her total identity.
Man must possess power and strength,
Chivalry, he must display, going to any length
Exuding a lot of courage and charm
Protecting one from every conceivable harm
Confident and blessed with a sense of humor
Adept to bring an end to every rumor
To demand, command and reprimand is his birthright,
To be the victor in every argument or fight
Oh! These so very perfect role models,
Are entwined in life’s various hurdles,
Actors remain unchanged, but parts altered
For both man and woman, in their values have faltered
No longer the meek and submissive kind
Women have torn the world rather than bind
Have been overly successful in their place of work,
But home and offspring _—— these responsibilities they shirk,
Having joined in the race for wealth
In the bargain lost their character and health
Man cannot be left behind in this re
al-life drama
Having been the sole cause of a woman’s trauma
Their loss of morals and ethics
Is revealed in today’s statistics
Their lust and greed has crossed the limit
Their ingenious ways, none can permit
Anarchy and despondency has set in
Encumbered by the pressures, all have lost their grin
Dejection and depression, one has to battle with
Due to scarcity of determination and grit
Each one feels forlorn though in a crowd
Can this state of affairs make the Almighty proud?
For man is destroying God’s very own creation
Will this be the future of the coming generation???

Shabnam Burk is from Mumbai who is also a post-graduate from Kolkata University.
In addition, Shabnam has been a school teacher and a private tutor for all ages, with her unmatched expertise in this field for 20 years. Further, her love for the English language is evident in her writing skills, and her passion for teaching is vouched by every student she meets. She also likes teaching Math as a subject.
Further, Shabnam has been a strong advocate of personality development in her students. And she also believes in their wholesome & all-rounded training. In addition, she teaches aspects of speech, drama, and phonetics in her regular classes, making them more interesting.
Moreover, she is a true experimenter at heart. Presently Shabnam is taking a sabbatical and trying new skills in fashion designing with her sister in the vast city of Mumbai. In conclusion, she is an amazing soul making us inspired by her poems.
