The Red Boat with a hole

Someone requested that a painter paint a boat. The boat’s owner wanted it to be painted a vivid red. A small hole in the boat’s hull was discovered during painting, and the painter silently patched it. The boat owner gave the painter a check the following day for a sizeable sum that was significantly greater than the amount owed for the painting job. According to the boat owner, this is not for the paint job. It is in relation to the boat hole that you patched. It was such a small jab, the painter retorted, “Sir.” The boat owner responded, “I completely forgot to ask you to paint the boat,” in response. My kids used the boat to go fishing after the paint on it dried. When that happened, I wasn’t at home. I was horrified when I learned about it after coming home because I remembered that the boat had a hole in it that hadn’t been fixed, and I imagined that my kids might get hurt. Once my kids returned from fishing, I was overjoyed and content to see them. After that, I looked at the boat and discovered that you had already patched the hole. My children’s lives were saved by you.

The moral of the story is to always help others, no matter who, when, or where you are. To make others happy, lend a helping hand, comfort them when they’re sad, and wipe their tears. Try to fill in all the gaps and holes in other people’s lives without asking for permission. You never know when someone might require your help. People expect you to support them when you stand by their side. You never know; you may have fixed many boat holes throughout your life without even being aware of them or realizing how many lives you may have saved in this way. Therefore, make a difference and do your best for everyone.
