Aisha Shaina shares her reflections on success, passion, growing up, ambition and the struggles that shape us. From childhood hobbies and a small circle of trusted friends to embracing business and learning the value of persistence, her story offers a thoughtful look at what it means to build a meaningful life.
Success Is More Than Achievement
Life achievement is not only about what we earn or how much we own. True success can also be measured by what we do for others and how we contribute to society.
Success is not simply about collecting possessions or reaching a particular position. It is reflected in our actions, our values and the difference we make through our work. For me, success means continuing to grow while using what I have learnt to create something meaningful.
Finding Your Passion While Growing Up
Everyone has different passions. For some, it may begin with a hobby, while for others, it may be connected to a dream they want to pursue professionally. But passion is more than something we enjoy for a short time. It needs commitment, focus and consistent effort.
During my growing-up years, I had several hobbies. I enjoyed painting, sketching, singing and writing. At the time, I thought these interests might eventually become my life’s direction.
Looking back, I also realise that I never had a very large circle of friends. I preferred choosing a few people I could trust, talk to openly and feel comfortable around. My parents were supportive of my interests and believed that I might eventually become an artist, painter or sketcher.
Life, however, took me in a different direction.
I did not come from a wealthy background where I could simply rely on financial assistance to start a business. I had to learn that hard work, determination and consistent effort can take you closer to your goals. I had never imagined that I would eventually venture into business, but when the opportunity came, I embraced it wholeheartedly.
Common Sense Matters in Success
People who build businesses around something they genuinely care about often attract like-minded people, supporters and enthusiasts. Passion can bring people together, but passion alone is not enough to build something sustainable.
Business also requires common sense, careful thinking and the ability to consider decisions from a customer’s point of view. You have to understand the consequences of your choices rather than acting impulsively.
Success requires more than intelligence. It calls for common sense, leadership, honesty, courage and the willingness to learn from mistakes.
Keep Your Passion Alive
Today, the word “passion” is often used casually. People may describe everything from their favourite clothes and watches to their changing interests as a passion. But genuine passion goes deeper.
As a working woman, I have seen how quickly people’s interests and goals can change. One day, they are excited about an idea, and the next day, they have moved on to something else. That is why having a clear goal matters.
Once you know what you want to achieve, work towards it consistently. Your vision can keep you moving when motivation disappears.
There will be days when you want to quit. There will be moments when your work feels exhausting and even Mondays seem difficult. That does not mean you have failed. It simply means you are human.
Success rarely arrives overnight. It requires patience, hard work and the ability to keep going even when progress feels slow. You also have to fight negative thoughts and continue believing in your dreams.
Sometimes, I feel like stopping too. But my dreams do not let me give up completely.
So, keep your goals in sight. Stay passionate about what matters to you and push yourself to take one more step each day. Believe in yourself, have faith in God and remember that the journey itself teaches you what success truly means.
