Rest easy,

I remember softly whispering to her as I gazed longingly into her sullen eyes while praying for a momentary spark of recognition.

far away she seemed, a remnant of remembrance within a tear

whose cold, icy stare had me wanting to weep a tear in my eyes

could no longer weep because I had wept too many of

them.

Is one to leave another in a weakened state in the manner in which

she had left me? So much had I given to her leaving nothing

more for myself except one meager

crumb…

She was always found insatiable, left with a hunger she could never

quench, and I refused to give in to her uncompromising

demeanor, which I soon learned to regret,

remembering

the years of suffering which were to follow at her hand.
