Her arrivals were always quite discreet in the dark; perhaps this was due to her appearance
At first, I perceived her appearance, her visual effect,
referring to the manner I described her as being,
the one preferring her anonymity, and she did become lesser-known
as the hours passed deep into the night,
and she, clinging to the dark
corners.
As a result, she became even more reclusive, seldom seen and rarely heard from
keeping a very silent mouth, speaking only a few words
and becoming barely noticeable.
My affection for her grew at one point. Her presence took my breath away. Even to date, I struggle to take a breath as I’m lost in her memories.
I could have probably fallen in love with her
The fact that we always looked into each other’s eyes struck me as peculiar.
In the manner in which she hoped, I should have allowed our relationship to grow and flourish.
I remember how she always broke her way to bump
into me, I might be a fool to have ignored her. Even now my heart
quakes and things are becoming quite
blurry.
What is this hold she has on me? It can be sensed in her voice,
the pattern she took her steps; with a pause now and then,
then hurrying, quickening her step even
faster and running out
of breath.
You
could almost see her jugular vein pulsating. I remember wanting
to catch her should she stumble
and fall.
She had a look for herself, anticipation, perhaps; it was rather
challenging to perceive, mysterious as she was, arriving the way
she had, hiding among the shadows,
seeking the dark.
In order not to lose sight of her, I kept her in my peripheral vision;
Had I known that I would lose her forever, I would have
lost without her.
It was in those moments that she transcended memories into something much more.
