A hush of emotion that suddenly becomes subdued,
as if one’s feelings have been quieted, precedes the subtle, silent sound
that a tear makes after being shed.
The heartbeat has come to an abrupt stop.
The memories from one’s childhood are condensed in the images.
Red kites tied to a string
suddenly set
free.
we linger as shadows that frighten and haunt within the dark,
remembering once we traversed amongst the stars. Have we
not fallen far, what little left remains of us?
Once, celestial bodies in the sky made wishes with a
whisper and a sigh. Have we lost that much luster…
a twinkle within a loved one’s eyes. Stardust shining bright.
Should we wish for one last magical, mystical moment, having
grown old, weak, and weary, after losing our strength…
We were once a child’s fantasy; what will become of us?
Must we await our imminent implosion, tragic, those who
fear us? Are we to worry ourselves?
Allow us to be once we were, or will you always think of us as
being fatality flawed.
What runs through your veins is now revealed. Your recent tragedies
shown within your tears and your hollow eyes, bespeaking of love
found and your untimely loss…
Your lips tremble your quavering voice; if I were to hold thee,
would you regather your thoughts and quell the lingering
the silence which abounds?
the soul is laden heavily with self-doubt and suffering within all the chaos.
