Presented by Naaz Joshi, India’s First International Transgender Beauty Queen, Miss Universe Transgender is India’s very own transgender beauty contest.
Naaz was inspired when a European Trans Pageant rejected her because she was overweight and didn’t meet the standards of pseudo-beauty. As a result, she launched her international pageant that would not discriminate based on age, gender, race, or weight.

- NAAZ JOSHI will be the first one to compete for the MISS UNIVERSE TRANSGENDER Title, in 2022
- NAAZ JOSHI will become the first one to compete for MISS UNIVERSE TRANSGENDER
Mia Brito Gomez from Colombia was the first winner of Miss Universe Trans 2021-2022 in an online show. There will be no discrimination this year, and this is the first staged event in two years since the pandemic started. There have been cases of discrimination against big celebrities from the Trans community in the past. New Delhi’s Lajpat Bhawan will host the contest, while the queens will stay in Jyoti Mahal, an historical heritage property. This year’s competition will feature queens from India, Columbia, Thailand, Mauritius, and Ecuador. It will be an incredible experience to watch the winners of three international beauty pageants come together to crown the new Miss and Queen Universe Trans for 2022.
The International Pageant is judged by:
- Fame Akeera, National Director, Miss Trans Thailand
- Julio Caesar, The Haute Couture Designer from Columbia
- Demitry Melchiorri, Celebrity Hair Stylist from Switzerland
- Mia Gomez, Winner of Miss Universe Trans 2021-2022, Columbia
The next edition will take place in the country where the winner hails from this year, and the pageant will begin in India.
