Lips that taste like sweet cherry wine; quite an impression after
having caressed them with a kiss, my sweet
remembrance.
Was it to have become a memory within these years gone by?
To have seen your coy smile as you lay near and beside remaining
silent and batting your eyes, and I, finding you quite an
intoxicant after having breathed in the alluring
fragrance of your
perfume….
Sweet cherry wine, or do you prefer a glass Pink of Chardonnay, red
or white long-stemmed roses; which one, your favourite
boutique?
Soft dinner music, which one, classical or contemporary,
instrumental? Rock and Roll?
You prefer to walk on the wild side. Something I not quite expected.
Was I to have misinterpreted it, the portrayal of deception, referring
to the look within your eyes. Never were they easily read,
nor do I feel you ever meant them
to be,
all of which always remained cryptic.
Was it the mask you always wore, to hide behind your veil of
secrecy. The words you spoke oft-times found as
meaningless,
your thoughts less structured than they usually were.
I felt it rather deceiving, what you presented in a disorderly
fashion, the recollections lacking what I felt should be
pertinent, usually found referring to nothing
at all,
what you had stored away within a cubical, discarded letters
and handwritten notes, a dozen red roses silently
withering.
Were you to have kept them, after they having lost their fragrance
reminiscent of the perfume you would spritz
on your wrist.
