The space between us. The distance apart we are. An increment
of time betwixt the shadows of darkness
and light.
I lie reaching to grasp a remembrance of you. A tear within the
corner of my eyes. How am I to begin after
arriving at an impasse,
referring
to the consonants, syllables, and vowels I am unable to enunciate,
or the sentences and paragraphs I long to scribe. If one were
wanting to differentiate the difference
betwixt the two.
Pertaining to all of which has
escaped me.
Emotionally expressive, one revealing who you are, an innocent
one, struggling with unbearable pain, too long
endured, and longed to
rid of it…
One must never overlook one’s
realizing, at one time or another one finds themselves struggling
with their own, however long or short the duration may be…
It is compassion one must offer, a warm embrace
or a welcomed hug.
Are they to be given freely and without reservation, nor fear of
reprisal, if at times one is turned away, recounting one’s
emotional trauma and the end
result…
One choosing instead to remain alone and aloof, afraid of
getting too close for fear of being
shattered.
Are they to be thought of as being overly sensitive?
I feel it is a natural reaction, fight or flight…
At times one can face all that one is confronted with, On the
other hand, one may not be able to. We all have a point
that we become broken
so often, we find it difficult to put ourselves back together.
I have lost too much of myself. The pieces of me I could not keep,
find or regather. Discarding segments of my life I would rather
remain forgotten…
It becomes burdensome, overwhelming pain and sadness.
A memory becomes nothing more, but a tear wept within my
eyes. And I have wept too many of them.
