she
was
it the manner
she moved toward you
that had first caught your eye,
or was it the way she looked
at you, all dreamy eyed
and speaking nary
a word, softly
sighing
as
she walked rather seductively by. had you found it difficult to breathe, as so many others had,
and you left with hearing
nothing more,
but
the echo of her footsteps and perhaps
a backward glance
if she took pity
on you,
which was quite a rarity; stil, i found her even more quite intriguing,
she, portraying herself in the manner in which
she ofttimes did…
a free spirit causing a little chaos
within the calm,
one ready
for
anything or nothing at all, whether it was sunny, cloudy or rainy
or none of the above.
always the grand illusionist, if she ever entered your dreams,
referring to the illustrious illustrations you may have
left you seeing.
images you found difficult to decide if they were real
or not, and ofttimes left you crying
or screaming….
all of which left you frightened
or filled with
dread.
had i loved her; perhaps in the past, although, she may have been
nothing more, but a figment of my vivid
imagination.
