She was always more to me

“Had I always been here…?” She wondered. “Perhaps a figment of someone’s imagination? Or had I only imagined I ever was?” A whisper of a tear showed upon her cheek revealing a soft glow of moonlight as she stood at her window a wisp of woman, young and pale. Frail looking. If one were to further describe her, existing to exist knowing full well of injurious men, who take the breath of life away from you, here she stood her hand reaching as if wanting to know of a semblance of kindness in hopes others would benefit from all she had given…All of which was ruthlessly taken, wanting

nothing in return except for a quiet place, an empty void, if you will, to fill, and a breath of remembrance of the lest she may remain forgotten. To have held her hand as she wept a tear. Was I to have remembered that excruciating moment when all else fell silent? What lies behind closed eyes, still as they were, never meandering

from hither to there as many times I have seen them do….. At least

until recently. One could almost hear a pin drop as the tear fell ever so silently to

the ground. Did anyone hear the sound? What were the words last she spoke? It seems like it were only yesterday as I gazed longingly into her beautiful eyes of blue. Such a smile, the long-lasting impression she had left me with. I remember praying to have more of her, never less, remembering our time together, well spent. She was always more to me than an increment of time, but to have run out of them. Was I to have thought of them more, they had always seemed so frivolous.
