For a lot of people, failure seems to be a hurdle to success. However, no major accomplishment has ever been accomplished without failure. It might be a major failure or a sequence of setbacks. However, whether we like it or not, failure is a crucial step in achieving our goals. Those closed or rejected possibilities might be stepping stones toward something no one could have imagined. The secret is to keep going until you own it.
Here’s the amazing story of Ms Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra, a U.K.-based solicitor, who bounced back to a successful life even after a traumatic accident and cancer.

Ms Shubhangi is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, mental health advocate, women empowerment activist, and international beauty pageant winner. She is the Founder of MRFA Foundation U.K. and also serves as Co-Founding Director at Chess solicitors U.K. For her work, Ms Shubhangi has received many national and international awards

She is celebrating diversity in womanhood through her various roles as a lawyer, mompreneur, mental health advocate, women empowerment activist, international beauty pageant coach, and activist in the rehabilitation of women and children of domestic violence and abuse, as well as human trafficking victims through the MRFA Foundation.

Ms. Shubhang’s inspiring journey

Ms. Shubhangi was born and brought up in Maharashtra, India to a middle-class orthodox family. She believes that knowledge is power, and her education became her passport. Shubhangi is a self-made woman who from the age of 16, started working and supporting her undergraduate studies. After exploring a career in financial markets Shubhangi’s PASSION for the law made her leave a well-paid job in London. Her PASSION for the law became her full-time PROFESSION. Having no experience in law made her take up an unpaid internship in a small firm. From that time in just two years, she became a partner of the law firm and thus a woman entrepreneur.

Shubhangi always believes in serendipities, life takes you on top and suddenly throws you from a cliff. At the peak of her career, she met with an accident that left her partially paralytic, stammering, cut off from the world, and thrown into a deep dark mental health battle due to a weak immune system. A rare kind of skin cancer attacked her body leaving her with painful wounds. It took four painful major surgeries when death blinked an eye and life welcomed her back with its open arms.
Since then Ms. Mitra’s perspective of life has changed. She has chosen PEOPLE OVER PROFIT.

She won’t let her pain turn her heart into something ugly, she can show you SURVIVING CAN BE BEAUTIFUL.

Ms. Shubhangi was then chosen to represent the United Kingdom in an international beauty pageant. There she promoted awareness about mental health and cancer as the Mrs. United Kingdom Classic Universe 2021-22.

All the failures she met in life have made Ms. Shubhangi a true winner. She is like a strong soldier on the battlefield of life who proudly wears her cancer scars as badges of honor.

Ms. Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra moments of struggle

During a recent interview, the first thing Shubhangi was asked was about her moments of struggle. She replied, “Many. I am a simple woman, next door village girl like a lot of us. I have had my chapters of struggle with many things related to my career, and many other aspects of life. People are often scared of what the community will say, instead of making an effort to work on the problem. But strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle. It is how you go through your struggles and how you come back is what matters.”

Ms. Shubhangi also said that we create some sort of resistance and opposition, leading to the creation of struggles. She says you may draw inspiration from your own life or from the struggle of role models to fight against difficulties in life.

Ms. Shubhangi adds that in some difficult moments she didn’t have any role model so she became her own role model.

The turning point in life

AS we were eager to know any turning point in her life that changed her perspective about life. Her reply was “Yes, surviving deadly skin cancer and mental health battles and getting a new reincarnated life.”

What motivates her

“The life I live, I fondly call, is born, died, and reborn in the same life, she replied profoundly. An ending says you are given another chance to make a new beginning. Every story has an end, but in life, every ending is a new beginning. Before my illness I was merely playing the role of a lawyer and an entrepreneur, living for myself. But my illness made me understand when “ I” is replaced with “WE” even when illness becomes wellness. The new life made me understand “why”.? It made me see my purpose, my mission, and my vision. I chose PEOPLE OVER PROFIT.”

Her philosophy about life

When asked about her philosophy on life she replied, “BE a voice, not an echo.”

Ms. Shubhangi continued, “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.”

Her advice is not to waste time living someone else’s life, as it is limited. She believes every problem is born with solutions. She says, “If life never stops us teaching then why should we stop learning. No one is you and that’s your power. When you accept that you live life limitless.”

Ms. Shubhangi’s message to the disheartened

During the interview, Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra shares her thoughts about those who have given up on life.

She said, “My favorite quote is every problem is born with solutions. Discouragement, disappointment, failure, and setbacks, are disheartened.
Everyone deals with all of the above at some point in their life. It’s part of what makes the human experience rich — the highs and the lows.”

Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra continued by saying that If we didn’t experience the lows, then we wouldn’t appreciate the highs. She also said that the key to life is to learn from these experiences. Ms. Shubhangi also wants us to minimize the amount of time that we allow ourselves to stay disheartened. She says it generally occurs when our expectations (what we think should happen) don’t align with reality (what happens). In many cases our expectations are unrealistic,

She added, “Don’t bring your ego in, It doesn’t matter if it’s a relationship, a lifestyle, or a job. If it doesn’t make you happy, LEARN TO LET GO. Do not judge your one story by the chapter you walked in on it’s just one part, life is limitless. some more tips to help you become encouraged again: CLAIM YOUR JOY INSTEAD OF FEELING DISCOURAGED, Free your mind, and make little positive changes in routine. Reframe negative thinking, eliminate wasted time on sad social media platforms wasting your time on Games networking sites, etc. When you know deep down you need to do something, you will find the time and the energy. But beware, because time fillers have a way of creeping in.”

What Shubhangi feels about the youth

Shubhangi also has a strong message for the youth. She says, “Youth has no age. Young people not only represent the future of our country, but they are also one of society’s main agents for change and progress. You have to grow from the inside out. Your biggest competition should be you. In this world, everything starts as nothing.”

She further said, “If life gives you a second chance don’t repeat past mistakes. Surround yourself with energy chargers, not energy drainers. Don’t downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny. Your life, time, and brain should belong to you, not to an institution. If you truly want to fly in life like an eagle, then give up everything that weighs you down. You are only young once.”

Shubhangi thoughts on humanity

During the interview, we asked her about Shubhangi Shivpuje Mitra thoughts on humanity

She replied, “For most of us, we form our identity based on our race, religion, skin colour, and political leanings among others. We tend to identify with a certain group and call them “our people”. We also tend to be more welcoming towards people whom we regard as “one of us”. Yet we often regard with suspicion those who we think don’t belong in our social strata. Most of our biases stem from the society we live in. It’s so easy to love those people whom you identify with. But it takes a special kind of courage to love people no matter who they are or where they came from.”

For Shubhangi humanity means caring for and helping others whenever and wherever possible. It means helping others at times when they need that help the most.

She says, “Humanity is not complicated but simple. You may not realize it but you can show your love for others even with simple gestures. Treat Everyone As Equals, see good in people, Show Compassion, give Back to the Community, Smile Even to Strangers, donate, and Always Look For The Good in People.”

She concluded by saying that humanity is nothing but our small gestures in today’s life to put a smile on one face, and spread compassion and love.

Stories are the best way to communicate. If you want to know a person, know their story. You will understand the person, rather than going by the gestures and the dressing sense.
