There can be only one sentence…

Murders of women in our country are becoming increasingly gruesome. Suspicious husbands, ditched boyfriends, and defied fathers are killing their wives, girlfriends, and daughters in the most horrific ways in fits of blind rage over trivial reasons and they deserve a sentence. And
disposing of their bodies after chopping them into pieces at home, storing the parts in the refrigerator, and then chucking them in the sea or some convenient creek in the dead of night one part at a time. In some chilling cases, the killers never even got rid of the bodies but continued to live with the dismembered corpses much to the horror of the neighbors. And this week in the Mira Road murder, it is believed the killer fed pieces of his mutilated victim to stray dogs in the area and choked up his building’s drainage by flushing some in the toilet.

I cannot think of anything more evil, bestial and depraved. I don’t know how these psychopaths hope to cover their crimes and get away with it. And the newspapers almost every week report another such grisly murder of a woman whose details are as shocking as they are frightening. In revulsion, we read about it. Forgetting about the murder that had taken place before it. And the one before that. I have no idea where everyday common men unused to any crime learn to become such inhuman monsters. Is this an impact of the serial killer films and Hollywood chainsaw massacres on TV? Perhaps, but there is also equally good content on these channels that are beautiful and inspiring that nobody credits for the nicer, wonderful, and more sensitive emotions
exhibited by men. I don’t think you can predict when a psychopath will kill. He never
lacks a reason. But I believe our reaction to such heinous crimes ought to be more definite. Once the killer is caught, and confesses to the crime, even while the police are searching for the body parts to build up forensic evidence for their case, the
victim’s family is struggling to accept the terrifying death of their loved one. To give them closure, and to send a message to unforgiving men who cannot end a relationship with a woman without murdering her, the trial must be swift and the sentence executed without giving the killer the benefit of appeal in higher courts and the right to call on the President for mercy. He never showed his victim any mercy. He ought to be put to death. There can be no other sentence.

Stories are the best way to communicate. If you want to know a person, know their story. You will understand the person, rather than going by the gestures and the dressing sense.

Do you also have a story that you want the world to know, then share it with us at submitstories.storyofsouls@gmail.com.

We are also giving mileage to young students who can be our young authors by  sharing their already written content with us, that will go live with their name credits.
