She
would never confirm nor deny whenever queried by her inquisitor,
feeling the queries rather
rhetorical,
illogical and irrelevant,
no matter
their
content or continuity. We are governed by boundaries one does
not cross realizing there are consequences,
and at times, they will consume
you.
She is my insomniac, I am sleepless without her, Why I cannot
close my eyes. Her images remain within a daydream,
a whisper of her voice, the salty wetness
of her tears.
Remembering she spending the night with me, covering the sky
with a blanket of stars, walking with me to the sea
of tranquillity on the surface
of the moon…
We swam ’till noon, bathed in sunlight, and at midnight
we watched the aurora Borealis, Climbed
the mountains on Jupiter sat
on the outer rings
of Saturn.
Tomorrow we’re scheduled to explore Mars…
I remember her speaking of dreams never dreamed of, Of futures,
never realized as she closed her eyes within
a yesterday before she spread
her wings to
fly.
One of life’s tragedies, her final offering…
A shadow arising within a mist, she awakening to an early dawn,
bleak and dreary as her heart grew
weary.
I held her close within the impending silence, caressed her cheek
quite tenderly, listened to her shallow breathing,
while I lie softly whispering
“My sweet Adaline…”
Suddenly silent approaches the evening, And to have visualized
her alone and weeping. ” My sweet Adaline….”enter darkness,
the night has fallen, comes a pale moon rising.
If only I had traced the tears within
her eyes…
