All of which your eyes have taken in, do you feel deceived realizing
the fakery, all is not as it seems, regarding subliminal images
entering within your peripheral vision,
metamorphosing
into something else other than they originally were, one’s grand
and illustrious illusion illustrated quite elaborately
within your dreams…
And she lay in slumber’s sleep whilst awaiting twilight’s dawn,
a restless child, at first arrival, now a woman who has
become of age,
regarding the years gone by without her knowledge as she slept
in the darkness awaiting the morrow slow to come, by what
or whom, the spell which, long ago
was cast.
Words conjured under an evil one’s breath…
Nothing more to dread, having been confronted by the past,
she herself, but others have, and well
remembered,
the events, at a backward glance, if ever they are to be taken.
And, therein lie the matter, regarding what circumstance may arise
as would a vine of rose thorns bared and ready to prick those
in close proximity, passing
by.
If they dare to be so bold. Are we left to imagine the look within
their eyes, having nothing left to defend themselves. Is no
one to comfort them, what bravery lost,
what is the cost,
Is there not a knight among us?
What trouble and toil is she to awaken to, has everyone lost their
senses, what little left of you, the weak and weary,
and once, so filled with
confidence.
Again, is there not a knight among us?
nary a sound and certainly not a spoken word.
Has everyone lost their tongues? Your eyes, your eyes, and I left
with dismay, what tragedy is to befall us.
Comes the hour; she awaits, darkness has given way to dawn.
Tread lightly, frail one, and pale, what steps are to be taken,
what steps are not, where doth your soul want to lie,
within an eternal darkness
or the light.
Whom have you chosen to guide you? Is there one left so brave?
