If
I were to reference a dream, one I had
previously dreamt,
always,
you would be found
within
it,
the recollection I have kept, one, whom I have re-envisioned
behind closed eyes, a superficial
resemblance…
If I were to compare thee to another, an occurrence
I regret having brought to mind whilst
rummaging about within
an increment
of time…
To have not categorized it within a catalog,
the remembrance, for you to have
remained forgotten,
an image
swept
away within the tears, I have wept, my endearment, most treasured,
recounting the backward steps into the past
I have taken to find
thee,
my cherished one, and to not have,
until I found myself
dreaming…
Am I to feel it a wonderment,
the moment I felt
magical?
An alluring fragrance lingers, the scent of one I supposedly knew.
If one were wanting to enquire or presume.
One clinging to the shadows,
but always felt near
and beside,
as revealed within her peering eyes…
Should I remember her lingering
presence?
I feel as though I am dreaming as I lie hopelessly awake, but it feels
more than that, it feels like a memory etched
within an increment
of time.
In visions, lost and once collected,
those of which we feared
and dread.
ones we should remember as well among the remembrances
we have cherished and have
kept.
Are these the nightmares that wail within our souls?
To have given her a scarlet red rose, my love
and my torment, whose thorn pierced
my saddened heart. Parting
is always a bitter-sweet
sorrow. These tears
I have now
wept,
crimson red, their coloring doth match that of sun
within dawn I found
reprehensible.
What passion lost and,
never again,
found.
These yearnings; within an empty void I reach, grasping nothing,
but the remembrance of my
tears.
