Always a seductress, shone dancing within your eyes,
clearly, a weakness, as I gaze lovingly at your limpid
pools of blue.
If only I could turn away
from them.
Held within your passionate embrace as I trace the contours of
your face, your curvaceous shape…
Peering at your pose, the manner in which you stood; a portrait
of self-confidence and self-determination, one, portraying
not a moment of doubt.
One could never describe you as being a shopfront mannequin,
nor a puppet tied onto a set of stings, if one would ever
attempt to do so
for all intents and purposes, you were, and are, always
a no-nonsense and self-aware type of
woman.
A persistent illusion; what my eyes beheld within the permeating
darkness found impenetrable as I lie reaching for a shard
of illuminating light wherein a faceless face
remained yet unseen,
and you,
hidden behind your facade, uttering words I failed to comprehend.
There in lie a flux within time’s differential, minutely small, barely
noticeable, however, intricately entwined, within the past,
the minutes, which have passed…
I found your smile
intriguing,
whimsical, yet enticing, in the manner you captured my heart
as you slowly walked by. A backward glance, and she,
retracing her footsteps as I lay
dreaming…
I find myself unable to differentiate between what is real and imaginary.
A predicament, I found understandably crucial,
when considering the mitigating
circumstances,
which, in time, could prove ominous. Not that I was deliriously
delusional, one living within an illusion and wandering
aimlessly within the outer reaches of our
known galaxy…
I admit I was proven clinically insane, an affliction by my own
admittance, which contributed to my faults and fallacies,
which, hopefully, I can rectify, not now, but,
perhaps, at another
time.
